Members of the KNOWSKITE-X research team recently participated in the closing workshop of the national MODSEN project (MODel of Saving electric ENergy from organic waste fermentation) at the Green Propulsion Laboratory (GPLab) in Venice.
Antonella Glisenti and Davide Chinello (PhD researcher in KNOWSKITE-X) presented their work on Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) and their application in biohydrogen-based energy systems. The event brought together researchers, engineers, and local stakeholders—including representatives from the Veneto Region and the Municipality of Venice, to discuss innovative approaches to sustainable energy production from urban organic waste.
The workshop highlighted the role of advanced fuel cell technologies in the circular economy, showcasing how “dark fermentation” of biological waste can be valorized into electrical energy. This aligns closely with KNOWSKITE-X’s mission to develop next-generation electrode materials that enhance the performance and sustainability of reversible energy conversion devices.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to present KNOWSKITE-X’s contributions to the broader European research landscape on sustainable materials and clean energy technologies.
